KDT (Kennedy Spinal Decompression)

Tensegrity Chiropractic is excited to offer the Kennedy Decompression Technique to the Tulsa area.  Spinal decompression is a highly effective non-evasive, non-surgical, traction-based treatment outcome for herniated or bulging discs in the neck and lower back.  Decompression therapy can also help those who suffer from spinal stenosis or sciatica.  Our decompression system also has the capability to decompress joints like: angles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, wrists, etc…
The number of sessions needed and your specific treatment plan will be determined by Dr. Barnes during your examination.  In almost all cases, the treatments are completely painless.  In fact, many patients fall asleep during the spinal decompression session.  After significant research, several years of being a decompression technician, Dr. Barnes chose the Kennedy Decompression Neural-Flex system, which we believe to be the most advanced decompression system in the world.  This table is capable of treating disc injuries to the neck, lower back, and even the mid back.  To reduce inflammation and assist the healing process, supporting structures are treated with passive therapies (ice, heat, Class IV laser), chiropractic adjustments (when needed) and/or active rehabilitation in order to strengthen spine and core muscles.  Spinal decompression therapy is not recommended for pregnant women, patients who have osteoporosis, sever obesity or nerve damage.
Spinal surgery with instrumentation (screws, metal plates or “cages’) is also a contraindication for treatment.  However, spinal decompression therapy after bone fusion or non-fusion spinal surgery can be performed.  If you have been diagnosed with a bulging disc, herniated disc, or sciatica, the Kennedy Decompression system may be able to reduce or eliminate your pain without the need for pain medication or surgery.
